It's quite amazing to think how women, as physically fragile (common notion) as they are can bring someone so precious out in this world. When we talk about childbirth, the next thing that comes to mind is anxiety, fear and pain.  And for a woman of today to choose to have a natural childbirth, despite of the pain free child delivery alternatives available, is very remarkable. Here are some tips to help you manage your pain during labor.

Tip number one. Inform your doctor about your plan to give birth naturally. Ask your doctor if it's possible to not to offer you any medicines unless they are medically necessary. However, you may want to consider having some contingency plan to get medicine just in case the pain is too much for you to bear.

Tip number two. Take a shower.  One of the best ways to deal with labor pains is taking a shower; the feeling of water on your body is like an instant massage. And speaking of massage, it will be very beneficial for you and your partner to have him give you a massage. It greatly enhances closeness and intimacy plus the fact that massage can give your partner an opportunity to participate in the labor process.

Tip number three. Practice deep breathing. Deep breathing can do a lot of benefits for a stressed out or nervous mom in labor. By breathing correctly or concentrating on your breathing will greatly help you in oxygenating your blood which will in turn oxygenate the baby.

Tip number four. Learn relaxation techniques. Relaxation is something that you should practice throughout your pregnancy, it reduces the labor pain. While you are having your contractions, it is best to relax the rest of your body so that your energy will not work against you. As a woman, to have a natural childbirth is an indication of how strong you are as a person.
