The title might give away my entire point.

Have you ever found yourself in a really good mood and felt really energized...only to be interrupted by someone who insists that his or her day is absolutely horrible?  Have you noticed that it's always the same people doing this?

In high school, I had a math teacher who was great.  He taught math in a way that made it pretty fun and really easy to understand.  However, I can't think of one lesson that he taught me that was better than one he probably long ago forgot he gave.

I sat in the front of that class.  All of my books went sliding all over the place.  Feeling defeated and embarrassed, I slumped and muttered that, "I'm having a bad day."

He said, "You ALWAYS are having a bad day."

At first, I fought it--of course.

Then, I realized that he was right.  I'm sure that I didn't adjust my attitude immediately, but I started changing my perspective right then.  Never again did I complain that I'm having a "bad day."  When I started to think it, I caught myself.

I haven't been the same since, and I probably haven't been as tolerant of other people's "bad day" since.

I always feel drained when I'm around these people.  It seems like these people get a kick from making their bad day bigger by extending it to the crowd around them.

My advice is hardly candid.  Stay as far from these people as you can.  They're too expensive.  Life is too short to waste them on bad days--yours or other someone else's.
