In this busy world we live in, it is so easy to go through the day focusing on problems and tasks as they appear. The things that are really important in our lives, such as exercise, family, friends, and most importantly, daily devotion, tend to take a back seat to the mundane everyday chores that we all find ourselves involved in.

Here are some easy methods for you to try which will enable you to devote a small, but important, portion of your day to spiritual renewal and, ultimately, give you a positive outlook on your life:

1. Pray while driving: This may sound a little strange, but I have found that my thoughts tend to flow very clearly when I am sitting in my car with some soothing music softly playing. Also, when you get where you are going, it is much more likely that you will find yourself in a positive frame of mind instead of the normal feelings of stress and fatigue that can sometimes linger long after you finish your drive.

2. Pray at your computer: There are many wonderful web sites that offer short daily devotional messages that are updated every day. Try some of these sites and find one that suits you and then bookmark it. You will find yourself looking forward to seeing the new message that is waiting there for you everyday. This is also an easy way of establishing your daily devotional time as a habit.

3. Pray while walking: A long, relaxing walk, is a wonderful time for spiritual reflection. Try taking a leisurely stroll around the block or through the park. Studies have shown that walking is a wonderful stress reliever and a wonderful way to take in the beauty of nature. Prayer almost comes naturally as you find yourself thinking about your life.

A short daily devotion is one of the most rewarding things that you can do for yourself. Get yourself into this habit and you will notice that you approach life differently. The problems that used to appear daunting, will not seem so big any more. The people in your life that cause you stress, will no longer seem so irritating. Life will become simpler and more worth living when you put things into perspective and there is no better way of doing this than with a short daily devotion.
