In recent years, Nuva ring problems have increased manifold and have also been reported in increasing numbers. The many serious problems associated with Nuva ring and side effects of Nuva ring include blood clots, strokes, and even heart attacks. Hundreds of women using Nuva ring birth control have reported all these problems and side effects. Many concerned consumer groups and esteemed members of the medical community are questioning the use of Nuva ring as a birth control contraceptive due to the increase in risk of blood clots and strokes. Nuva ring is a third generation contraceptive and uses a new form of a hormone - progestin - known as desogestrel. Since Nuva ring is a contraceptive containing hormones, it prevents pregnancies by releasing low dosages of the hormones estrogen and progestin. This results in changing the hormone levels in the body and changes the natural balance of hormones that the human body regulates by itself. This creates serious problems and side effects for the women using Nuva ring. Some of these Nuva ring problems are blood clots in the legs and eyes, strokes and embolisms. Nuva ring and side effects of using Nuva ring and not paying attention to these problems or not attending to these problems on time could also result in death. The most common Nuva ring problems associated with the women using Nuva ring contraceptive are blood clots. Deep venous thrombosis or DVT occurs when blood clots are formed in veins that are deep inside the body. DVT mostly affects the veins in the lower part of the legs and the thighs. A blood clot or thrombus forms in the larger veins of the lower part of the legs and the thighs. This blood clot can interfere and hamper the flow of blood to various organs, and it can also move and travel through the veins and the bloodstream - which in medical terms means to embolize. This moving and traveling clot or embolus may travel and lodge itself in the brain, lungs, heart, or any other area, thus severely damaging that organ. The risk of DVT is greatly enhanced in women using Nuva ring due to the hormones estrogen and progestin released by the contraceptive and every women should be aware of Nuva ring and side effects of using Nuva ring. Although DVT can and does occur due to other factors like prolonged sitting - such as on a long plane ride, prolonged bed rest due to a medical condition, recent hip, knee, or female reproductive organ surgery, fractures. DVT can also be caused by overproduction of the red blood cells, malignant tumors, and hypercoagulability - which simply means that the blood can coagulate or form clots easily. But the use of Nuva ring, which releases hormones like estrogen and progestin into the blood stream in low dosages, along with these factors, increases the risk of DVT manifold. Nuva ring problems and the use of Nuva ring and side effects have been studied and reported all over the world and many lawsuits too have been filed for damages.
