Having ocd intrusive thoughts is a common problem people who suffer from this disorder always talk about. Why are these thoughts always jumping into my head? How can I make these stop? If I didn't think these thoughts, I would be fine and anxiety free.

Suffering from OCD myself for over 25 years, this can be annoying and if not draining. The mind keeps thinking od these thoughts and you worry or panic that you might act on them. The good news is that you know these are intrusive thoughts and you won't act on them. This is what is making you anxious.

One way I learned to control my intrusive thought process was exposure therapy. This has worked really well for me and has reduced my sypmtoms by 90%. The exposure therapy is to keep you exposed to the fear, in this case the thought, or the action you might take. Start to think about this any free time you have. Write the thought down, read it and keep thinking about it until it does not bother you. The saying beating it to death, is what you want to accomplish here. After awhile you will get so sick and tired of thinking of this, you will soon forget. The down side is you might start to worry about something else. That's OK, repeat the same steps for all obsessions.

I have some great tips at my site the OCD intrusive thought blog. Share your success stories with me, I want to hear them.

Cheers
