Anyone with just a brief history of Israel and the Hebraic nation will understand why they asked Rome to have Jesus killed. Israel stands hard and fast one there being ONE GOD! This is the clarion call of the strict monotheism of Judaism- "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD!" (Deut. 6:4). So, when Jesus claimed to be the "son of God", it was game over! Not only did Jesus claim that he too way god, but that there would be a third god coming along after him- the Holy Spirit! So, think it not strange that Christianity as a developing religion (not what Jesus intended) had to jump through hoops, create strange doctrine, and make sense out of seeming non-sense. I am not going to go into the plethora of creeds that the church developed to try and explain the un-explainable. The whole of Christianity has such difficult to understand beliefs that one can get lost in the maze of COGNITIVE DISSONANCE. We read in I Tim. 2:5 as an example, "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" Christ man? So, Jesus is both fully human and fully divine? Yep! Go figure. Better yet, why don't we just BE and not try so hard to BELIEVE? Why don't we just BE the person that the historical Jesus (or just mythological- whichever fits your fancy) is said to have been? And that would be? LOVE! Christian religions put so much time and effort into trying to be totally objective when the reality is that God is Spirit and Spirit is highly subjective. Can one love Jesus, be a Christian, and still not believe in a trinitarian concept that much of Christianity posits? I say yes. Many others say no. What sayeth thou?
