Oprah Influences The Wrinkle Cream Market

We all know the extreme amount of influence that a simple recommendation that Oprah has on the consumer marketplace.  Her book club is insanely popular and there are many consumers that will purchase a product, simply because Oprah has recommended it.  She is an extremely powerful business woman and companies everywhere seek her endorsement of their products.  But no industry is influence quite as much by her opinions as the anti aging market.  Oprah’s opinions have become a trusted referral of wrinkle creams that consumers rely upon when making a decision.

The problem here is that Oprah is not going to try each and every product available on the market, and at the rate that new anti aging products hit the market, how could she?  But are consumers being led towards the best products available or the best products that Oprah has used?  The answer is clearly that latter, and in no way are her recommendations a complete assessment of the industry and its best products.  That being said, we could all sleep a little better if we knew she endorsed the product we purchased.

Oprah has prided herself over the years on recommending quality products, and she seems to take that fact very serious, but with the anti aging industry it is more difficult than that.  There are far too many products that come out each month that require a significant amount of consumption to warrant a recommendation, it would not be possible for her to try and evaluate all of them.  In fact many of the recommendations she has made, are instant type of products that are not designed to actually treat symptoms of aging, because they are the only products she could possibly have time to use and test.  But as a result, consumers are often confused about the level of quality products that the anti aging industry has to offer, as many of them are not intended to be temporary or instant products.

As an anti aging expert as well as a HUGE Oprah fan, I have been torn about this very fact for years.  I see the products she has chosen to endorse and I understand why, but many of her viewers are actually seeking a very real solution to their battle against wrinkles, not just some temporary lift.  The very best wrinkle creams and aging products , provide lasting results that utilize the best of ingredients.  Unfortunately, consumers are not made aware of these products as it is difficult for Oprah to logistically test and consume them to make her endorsement.  What is left is a large consumer base looking to Oprah for a real lasting solution and finding only a temporary one that empties their pockets as well as their dreams of actually healing wrinkles.
