Most of the time, home decluttering and organizing means dealing with small things in your everyday life. For example, you clean your kitchen table at the end of the day, because you want to start your morning with a clean table. It may also mean like putting your the shoes directly into the shoe rack when entering your home. Tasks like this are very small and easy to do. However there are much more time consuming tasks that may take days to complete. This article introduces some of these tasks that I have experience of.

Organizing and decluttering your basement

It's easy to dump stuff into your basement without thinking further about it. Eventually you wake up and realize that your basement storage is full of stuff that doesn't belong there. I used to store lots of cardboard boxes to my basement and finally there was too much stuff there, so I had to clean it up. My basement organization was a big thing timewise, although it helped that I could do it with my spouse. Although in my case the basement was quite small, we still had to work through the weekend in order to get it organized and decluttered.

Organizing and decluttering your master closetMaster closet was also one of the places where I would store lots of stuff although I gave a more thought to storing things there than what I did when storing stuff in my basement. My master closet stores mostly clothes, although there are travelling and hobbies related items as well. For the most parts, the items we need to use the most were the most difficult to reach. Cleaning and organizing our master closet took many weekends, mainly because we did the organization work in batches. However, it was the even more time consuming than basement, since there were quite a bit of items we had to go through and we had to think some time before getting rid of it.
