The latest trends suggest that outdoor weddings and events are becoming more and more popular. The right marquee, flooring, lighting and decor can transform you ordinary tent into a magical ballroom that is sophisticated and elegant.

Whilst there are many choices for outdoor venues, it is important to make the correct choice which takes into consideration the following factors:

· A Back- up plan incase of rain, hail, storms, strong winds, heat and other unexpected weather events

· Allow for electricity for lighting, sound and kitchen facilities etc

· Ensure access to parking ( no – one wants to hike to the location especially if their wearing stilettos)

· Access to restrooms (you may need to provide a portable restroom)

· Tables , chairs, linen, fine china and cutlery

Whilst outdoor weddings and events can be cost effective and beautiful they require far more planning to be successful. If you plan on having a summer wedding or event then make sure to provide your guests with plenty of water. Have your ushers hand out bottles of water or perhaps, lemonade or punch to your guests.

Despite the obvious caveats of having an event outdoors there are also many positives of doing so. With some planning and foresight, many of the potential issues can be avoided. There are few venues or locations that will hold the same charm of holding your wedding or event in garden or park or at the beach. You could hire a marquee or simply have your event under the stars. Decorating your event is relatively simple as you don’t have to adorn nature. Some of the decorating ideas you may want to consider are lanterns, fairy lights for the trees, and perhaps an arch covered in blooms. Standing in a gazebo during your wedding ceremony is romantic and magical.

So whether the outdoor location you choose is in a beautiful English garden, lakeside, by the beach, at a golf course, in a rainforest, or on a mountain top, there is nothing that symbolises the promise of the joining of two souls as taking your vows in natures scenic arms.
