Panic disorderwith agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder in which there are repeated attacks of intensefear and anxiety, and a fear of being in places where escape might be difficult, or where help might not be available in case ofa panic attack.

Panic Disordercan of course, cause panic attacks. These are dreadful experiences of extreme and intense fear that will often leave a lasting impression on our mind. One of the big causes ofAgoraphobiastarts by having an attack.

Typically, people who suffer fromagoraphobiago out of their way to avoid social environments such as restaurants, shopping malls, and airports, or anywhere else where there are few places to hide. In extreme cases, some people are so scared of havinga panic attackthat they never leave their home.

The attack itself can cause us to worry about having another one. Thoughts such as, what happens if this occurs in a restaurant, on a bus, or a shopping mall. These thoughts can grow in terms offearand continually do so to the point we actively try to avoid such places so such a situation does not happen in the first place.

A disorder with agoraphobiais serious and will not got away on its own. Agoraphobia usually develops after years of panic issues. There are several panic disorder with agoraphobia treatment methods . Sometimes using a combined treatment approach as ananxiety treatmentis your best solution.

Some of the situations that are often avoided by individuals withpanic disorder and agoraphobiainclude:

• Being more than a short distance from home
• Leaving home alone
• Shopping in a crowded supermarket
• Walking through a crowded shopping mall, away from the exits
• Riding a bus, train, or subway
• Flying on an airplane
• Sitting in a theater, away from the exit, or in the middle of a row
• Going to a concert
• Attending a sports event
• Walking alone in the neighborhood
• Standing in a long bank line
• Going to a party
• Sitting in a meeting
• Enclosed places (e.g., riding elevators, being in tunnels, small rooms)
• Visiting a museum
• Walking on a crowded street
• Driving on highways, city streets, or other roads
• Exercising
• Sexual activity

Many people who identify as agoraphobic feel as if they will be unsafe or may be subject toan anxiety attackif they leave their home or the space in which they feel comfortable. The real problem with this disorder is that the more it is enforced – for example, the more one gives into theirfear– the stronger thephobiabecomes, until it is finally so overwhelming that it interferes with one's daily life. Fortunately, anxiety disorders such asagoraphobiaare highly treatable.

If we fill our mind with negative or frightening images, that is what our mind will hold on to. Focus instead on happy and uplifting things. Re-evaluate the movies, magazines and video games you play. Focus on seeing yourselfpanic free. Where would you like to see yourself panic free, on the beach watching the clouds roll by, playing games with your children or grandchildren, watching their happy faces? Your imagination can transport you anywhere and is better than any television or movie. Practice day dreaming scenes where you arepanic freeand enjoying yourself. It might be hard at first but please persevere.
