Paxil belongs to the group of antidepressants. It is used in the treatment of depression, over anxiety, stress after a trauma, mood swings, dysphoric disorder that might happen before menstruation. It replaces the serotonin level in the brain which is the cause of emotional changes.

The medicine is found to have induced suicidal tendencies in patients below 24 yrs of age. Hence, they should be kept under close watch and also should be taken for regular check-ups for the first 3 months.

The medicine might interact with other medicines taken during the course of treatment. Warfarin, cimetidine, fosamprenavir, St. John;s wort, linezolid, ritonavir etc are some of them. Pain killers, medicines taken for arthritis, fever etc including aspirin, other salicytes, ibuprofines, naproxens, diclofenacs, indomethacins, piroxicams, nabumetones, etodolacs etc can cause easy bleeding when taken during the treatment. The medicine is not recommended for people who are taking pimozidem, thioradazine, phenylzine, rasagiline, selegiline or MAO inhibitors. Or a 14 days gap should be there after taking these medicines. The doctor should be informed about all other drugs that the patient is using and other medical conditions, especially if the patient is suffering from a liver or kidney disease, blood clotting problems, fits, severe mental depression, usage of narcotic drugs etc as this may require a dose change. Pregnant women and breast-feeding mothers are not recommended its use as they may cause fatal problems to the fetus and feeding babies. Alcohol usage should be completely avoided.

The medicine should be taken as strictly instructed by the doctor. Any behavioral or mood changes shown by the patients during the treatment should be reported to the doctor. The medicine is recommended to be taken at the same time everyday. The medicine should be swallowed whole without crushing, chewing or breaking the tablet. The liquid medicine should be shaken well before use. It will take about a month to show visible differences in the patient. The medicine should not be started, stopped or continued for longer than prescribed.

Symptoms of allergic reaction, emotional imbalance, sensitive skin, muscle stiffness, fever, excessive sweating, trouble in co-ordination, headache, fatigue, breathing problems, epilepsy etc should seek medical help immediately. Mervousness, giddiness, sleeping troubles, stomach upset, loss of interest in sex, weight fluctuations, dryness in mouth, yawning, ear problems etc can be other side effects of the medicine.

Paxil is a well known drug and at the same time it is widely considered as the best option for most of the strange diseases that you might come along. It is always advised to buy these drugs at CanAmerica Global , as you can save a lot of time and money.
