The Drug Paxil, Manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline was introduced on the market in 1992 with approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration of the Department of Health and Human Services (FDA). This approval means that the drug is able to be released on the market and sold to doctors that are able to prescribe the drug to their patients if they meet certain criteria and are suffering from a disorder that would be benefited by the use of Paxil. Paxil is a drug mainly used as an antidepressant and prescribed to those suffering from anxiety disorders, OCD, ADD, post partum depression, premenstrual syndrome, and eating disorders. Paxil has also been known as a “me too” drug because it was developed in fashion after similar drugs which implies that it is trying to compete with the competitive market that it is segmented in.

Paxil affects your daily life in a dramatic way because it messes with the communication within your body. This means that your ability to distinguish daily happenings or self identity can be significantly affected making it hard for real life instances to matter. While using Paxil your emotions tend to run rapid in which your mood can change on the tip of a dime. These ranges in emotions can lead to suicidal tendencies for your perception of reality is significantly altered. Another side effect from Paxil is the tendencies for your passions and sex drive to be significantly altered meaning that they might not matter to you anymore. What you once loved doing, for example working out, may not appeal to you in the least sense anymore. “Paxil’s labeling includes a black-box, the most serious warning a drug can carry short of being pulled from the market that states that Paxil may cause suicidal ideations in people under the age of 25.” Since the side effects of Paxil are so sever many people have been significantly harmed due to the use of the drug. " target="_self" Paxil lawsuits have been popping up all over the nation and gaining headway by obtaining more cases that might lead to a class action suit.

Paxil taken by those under the age of 18 has been proven to cause very serious side effects including suicidal thoughts. A class action Paxil lawsuit has been filed against GlaxoSmithKline reached a settlement in which you may be able to be reimbursed for you expenses. Initiated in the Paxil lawsuit were the terms that if you had documentation of your Paxil subscription you could recover 100% of your expenses. However also under the Paxil lawsuit if you could not prove documentation you could only recover a measly $15, in which the total settlement reached upwards of $300,000. Yet GlaxoSmithKline set away over $60 million to use for class action Paxil claims. If you or a loved one has taken Paxil and demonstrated some of the negative side effects, contact a lawyer immediately so that you can file a Paxil lawsuit today to start recovering compensation.
