When I logged into my messenger today one of my friends had send me a quote which read, "You never win the silver, you always loose the gold"
When I read this I was wondering what an attitude this quote just simplified. I could not just brush it off my mind as I started to contemplate on it. Generally people loose hope or confidence when they fail to meet a target. This quote can be simplified anyway way the reader wants to either positively or negatively. Taking it positively will only make the reader more aggressive in his next attempt as he will develop perseverance and more self confidence which will definitely drive him to win the gold. Negative thinkers will only fret and fume and use this quote to further cry over the spoiled milk.
How can we develop perseverance? Before discussing the ways and means to develop perseverance let us first know what perseverance really means. The great self help author Dale Carnegie in one of his books defines perseverance as something through which we can 'develop success from failures'; he further says that failure and discouragement are the surest ways to success.
'Victory belongs to the most persevering' was what Napoleon Bonaparte felt and we all know about his courageous endeavors to win over the whole world. From time and again our teachers and parents never failed to develop our perseverance by quoting, 'aim for the sky and you will at least reach the tree top'. There are many eminent personalities and successful people who had attained great heights in life because of their perseverance.
We all know the famous scientist Albert Einstein but how many know that he had learning disabilities. He hated going to school and was a drop out in his earlier age. But due to his determination he developed perseverance and became a great scientist who was known world wide. Many differently able people too like Beethoven, Helen Keller, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson etc developed perseverance and become successful in their respective fields.
Now let us come back to how to develop perseverance in our daily life? Everyday many incidents take place out of which some are inspirational and others are discouraging and detrimental to our mental disposition. How to deal with such situations and develop a strong character wherein we can develop perseverance in our lives? First of all attitude is everything in our lives, the right attitude will lead us in the right path and the negative attitude will definitely pull us down.
Surest ways to develop perseverance is collect and read inspiration stories about successful people whose determination and hard worked lead them to success. Always placing inspirational and motivating quotes around the work area or where it just visible constantly to catch your attention. You can attend self help seminars or get involved with social workers or groups who will increase and develop perseverance in your life. Always do not postpone things and be determined to always finish everything that you start as commitment and hard work can be the key to your success.
Building a strong character based on human values is also very imperative as this will instill patience and endurance. Do not be judgmental and always be calm and never complain. Perseverance is nothing but never giving up. Try again and again until you get the desired changes. Let not failures discourage you and do not allow success to get on your head. Live a balanced life and always remember the words of Charley Taylor, 'work hard and give it your best shot; never be a quitter'.
Only cowards will blame others and the circumstances for their failures in life. Brave people usually learn from their failures and develop perseverance and determination to work much harder and never give up until they succeed. Growing from experiences in real life is a great tutor much greater than any university degree. Successful people never look back at what they lost but move forward with what they have.
Don't fret and fume at what you do not have, make use of the resources in hand to come up in life. Many people will just wait for an opportunity to knock their doors but that never happens, you have to go hunting for better opportunities that life is abundant with. Miracles never happen on their own until we are aware of their presence and pull them down.
