Here is a quiz that would help you identify the problem areas where your negative attitude is keeping you off from taking the charge of life. Simply answer a 'yes' for the statements that depict you.

a. I get discouraged as & when I think about the problems I am going through.

b. Most oft I wonder as to why my life isn't as rewarding as it could have been; several people around me are living a far better & satisfactory life than me.

c. I have problems focusing on the goals I wish to achieve; I'm easily distracted from my work.

d. I often tend to put off the projects that I could have initiated as I'm always thinking regarding the things that might go wrong.

In case you have answered a 'yes' to any or all of the statements given above, make sure that you start with a new attitude today itself, or may be right now onwards.

For this you can inspire yourself by several means like:

1. Reading the motivational books
2. Listening to inspirational recordings
3. Associating with the positive thinkers

You must understand the following points in order to train yourself to be happy & positive always:

1. We ourselves are the cause of our own feelings.
2. 'I' am always the key cause of my problems.
3. Never let the negative attitude intervene your way towards happiness.
4. Never culminate to an important decision while you are feeling down.
5. Decide some important factor is your life like:
a. Which is the best time for you to make decisions?
b. Which is the worst time for the same?
c. Which would be the best time for working out the difficult tasks?
d. Is there any time of the day when you actually tend to procrastinate more than usual?
e. Is there some particular time of the day when you tend to think more positive and procrastinate less?

Now considering the results of the above mentioned questions, here are some points that would help you improve your attitude and take some steps to overcome the monster of procrastination:

1. Focus strongly on the end result that you want to achieve.

In case you focus more on your problems, you would become rather discouraged. In case you are not getting the part of life that you want to achieve, it might be that you lack the focus. Procrastination is a real demon that prevents us from targeting our goals. Procrastinators always focus on the reasons for not moving forward, rather than focusing on their goals.

2. Pay full attention to the task you are doing.

The fear of getting wrong is the real cause of the lack of concentration. In case you are completely focused on what ever you are doing currently, you would never go wrong as you would do complete justice to the task. In case we start with the fear of going wrong, we are ensuring that we shall fail and that we might never start the job at all.

3. Do not focus on everything that might go wrong.

Keeping your focus on the issues involved in accomplishing something would almost always convince the individual to give up even before they start.

4. Do not throw away caution.

There is a difference in understanding the problems & facing them; and knowing the problems & being scared of them. We here are not telling you not to be cautious as very work that we do has some issues involved that need to be resolved. The achievers would understand these issues, prepare themselves to face them and work confidently, where as, the procrastinators would use these issues as excuses for not completing the job.

Remember, the key identifications of the productive people are as follows:

a. They know how to focus on the opportunities
b. They concentrate majorly on the benefits of the successfully completed project
c. They can easily win the battle amidst the war against procrastination.
