Practicing Random Acts of Kindness:

The Attitude of Gratitude

Practicing random acts of kindness is a great way to change the world, although it may not happen as soon as you’d like. But if you focus on changing your community and your life through random acts, you can slowly influence the world. It's a great way to make sure that you start some motion, a network of people being kind to others without reason.

When was the last time you sent someone a card when it wasn't a birthday or an anniversary? Have you ever? When you did, was that person's life radically changed? Maybe it not forever, but affecting just a moment in someone’s day can be life changing. Random acts of kindness don't have to be huge because even the smallest acts can encourage you to provide a positive influence on someone else's day.

A small act of kindness can be viral: you do it, your friends do it, and then their friends and so on. It’s the world’s best domino effect.

A small act of kindness does not have to be tickets to a concert or a vacation, it can be as simple as sending an email or a card to say you miss someone. It can be buying the guy behind you a coffee at Starbucks. Whatever you decide to do, it can change some one's day or week.

You never know how hard someone's life may be or how they are struggling at that point in time. That's why, when you decide to perform a random act of kindness, you could be radically changing some one's day for the better. If the entire world, every single person, went around and thought about how to positively influence someone else's day, then how would the world look?

Everyone needs a little bit of encouragement throughout the day, throughout the week. We all crave positive reinforcement and to know that we are valued and respected. Whatever needs you have, focus on those needs in other people.

Surely enough, their needs will be filled and your problems will shrink too. Working and changing the world may not be easy, but you can start one wish at a time. Changing your community is as easy as practicing random acts of kindness.
