So, lets make this pre-conception stage a fun one. Well, if you are surfing the net for various pregnancy related information, you might have come across strange but interesting abbreviations. These are used by a large number of pregnant or trying-to-be pregnant ladies. It's almost as if they are communicating in a different language!

BCP -Birth Control Pills

AF (Aunt Flo) - Menstruation

LSP - Low Sperm Count

HPT - Home Pregnancy Tests

BFP - Big Fat Positive (This refers to the pregnancy tests)

BFN - Big Fat Negative

O - Ovulation

CD - Cycle Day

CM - Cervical Mucus

DH - Dear Husband or may be Darling Husband!

OPK - Ovulation Predictor Kit

DPO - Days Post-Ovulation

TTC - Trying to Conceive

TWW - Two week wait (Refers to the wait after O for your AF!)

TMI - Too Much Information!

U/S - Ultrasound

M/C- Miscarriage

OB - Obstetrician

And finally.....

LO - Love Olympics (Ahem...Sex)

Now, since you are well aware of the popular abbreviations used by young ladies in those pregnancy forums, go ahead...Have Fun! But always think with your head when strangers suggest "unique" ways of getting pregnant sooner. There is nothing better than a well timed consultation with the doctor. You wouldn't want to damage your chances of getting pregnant by listening to quacks, would you?
