The stresses that we experience are becoming more psychological than physical. Take for example our personal relationships – maybe you try so hard in winning that precious recognition from a certain group of people through better work quality and social status, or maybe you keep trying to live up to everyone else's expectations.

All these can cause grief, loneliness, depression and subsequently a weak immune system. This can make us feel more vulnerable to even more stress and illness. There are simple methods of self-therapy that you can perform to help yourself in your quest to manage stress.

Find out you stress factors and write them down in a diary, scribbling down any possible solutions whenever possible. You'll come out with many ideas and you get to be more creative in self-expression, which can make you a happier person. Don't censor yourself – let it all out.

Exercise your body regularly for a better immune system. It also makes your body become stronger and projects a positive self-image. Regular exercises produces endorphins, the hormone that causes positive feelings, thus relieving stress.

Meditate to calm your mind. You can learn more on proper meditation steps by doing research on the Internet, reading fitness magazines, or by looking for a meditation center through the Yellow Pages.

Learn how to properly respond and communicate with other people so that you're able to reduce stress. Perhaps you may have been a shy person and thus always misunderstood by others. Maybe you radiate a high level of hostility in your facial expression, which is obvious to other people without you even knowing it. So, think it over. Watch your face carefully in a mirror.

Estimate time properly when assigning time constraints to each task's due date. Slot some time in between where you can have a break to relax.

Aromatherapy massage is a popular indulgence these days. Chase your stress away by getting a good massage, be it from a massage parlor or from someone you trust. Aromatherapy oils are good, too. Pour a few drops into a warm bath and sink in.

Take a time out especially when you feel down and not in the right mood due to work stress. Take a 10 minute walk around the block, or make some tea for yourself and sit alone in the office pantry. Do anything to cast your mind and body away from stress. Once you feel better, you will be able to perform any tasks assigned to you with renewed vigor.
