/? " Reaching Objectives Goals are important to your business because they give your business direction. By setting goals you give your business a plan of action and it creates a barometer by which you can measure your success. Goals help you see where you want your business to go and how you are going to get it there. Goals should be in writing if they are to be effective and motivate you to action. Keeping them in posted where everyone involved can see them will be a great incentive to keep working toward the objective. Don't set goals beyond your reach. Be reasonable. Also, be sure there is a way to track progress so as to avoid frustration and enjoy little successes along the way. Everyone has some experience in mapping out there objectives. We do it naturally in even the small aspects of every day life. A "to do" list is a simple format for written goals. So do not be overly anxious about taking on the task of putting your business' goals in writing. /? " Reaching Objectives Do not be too general with your goals. When putting them down on paper state clearly and precisely what you want to accomplish. List departments or persons that will be involved, and give yourself a time frame in which you want to accomplish your goal. Don't just state blanket desires. Within one main goal set forth on paper the ways by which you are going to go about reaching your objective. Use as much detail as possible to make sure you are getting your mental plan down in writing. That makes your goals more realistic and they will motivate you to action. Once you have well stated goals down on paper you can begin to utilize them to give you direction. If you have given yourself a specific time frame you know that within that time frame you will be especially focused on that objective. Within your goal you can set stair step goals that will help you meet the overall objective. This way your goals are giving you clear direction each day to help you get your business where you want it to be. /? " Reaching Objectives
