Before finding the best remedies to stop snoring, it's important to know what is snoring and the causes. Snoring is the noise caused by the vibration of soft tissues in the throat caused by air passing over them. When we sleep, the muscles are most relaxed and will fall back. It will cause blockage to the passage of normal airflow and narrowing the passage itself.

The effective remedies to stop snoring is not usually requires any surgical method. Just give a lot of attention studies about the related factors that either cause the condition or make the condition worse itself and then try to solve them. It's a basic and important step to stop your snoring.

-Alcohol Drinking alcohol will make us tend to be closer to unconscious state than in normal sleep and as a result our muscles will be more relaxed than normal. The relaxation of our muscles will affect the soft tissues in our throat and can be an immediate cause of snoring.

-Smoking Smoking not only gives the damage for the trachea and bronchial system but also modifies the throat cells. This modification will cause mucus build up and due to the abnormal release of mucus, the mucous membranes in the esophagus and throat will swell and then causing blockages in the small vessels in the lungs.

-Sleeping habits We already know that those who sleep on their backs usually have more chances to get snoring than those who sleep on their sides. Sleeping on the back quite obviously make the soft tissues naturally falling backward into your throat.

Elevate your head would also significantly reduce the chances of you snoring. Keep the elevation around 30 degrees would be relaxed the diaphragm and keep the soft tissues from falling back.

-Weight People who are overweight or obese are far more likely to snore. Extra fat stored in your throat will increase the amount of soft tissue that available to vibrate and make the snoring noise.

You can significantly increase your ability to breathe while sleeping without get snoring although you only reduce 10% of your body mass.

The other remedies to stop snoring such as regular sleep pattern and avoid antihistamines or sleeping pills also will be very helpful to complete your stop snoring program.
