Pregnancy happens when the male sperm enters the woman's vagina and meets with an egg on its way to the uterus up the fallopian tube.
Unfortunately, many couples still find it hard to get pregnant.
This can be related to a number of reasons; insufficient sperm, weak sperm count etc.
In some instances a little help from the couple themselves is all that's necessary to get pregnant, and the position they choose can be a large part of it.
Whenever we discuss the most effective position to get pregnant, we have to keep in mind that the general concept is that the male sperm has reach as near as possible to the female cervix.
We should also remember that you could get pregnant in any sexual position.
You can do it by standing, lying down, woman on top, man on top, sitting on a chair, or whatever else you enjoy.
While not many people will agree with the fact that the sexual position has anything to do with getting pregnant its only reasonable to assume that the position that can help the sperm meet the egg in the shortest possible time will make a difference.
To achieve this effect I have compiled the best positions for getting pregnant, according to most experts. These positions would avoid positions which have the lowest chance of exposure of the female cervix to the male sperm
When trying to conceive, consider a position that best limits the amount of sperm that flows back out of the vagina.
The woman's hips should also be positioned in a way that the sperm released is kept inside, giving it enough time to swim up to the female cervix.
So it is best to avoid sex while sitting down, with the woman on top, or standing up.
Man-on-top, known as the missionary position, is considered to be the best position for getting pregnant.
This is because this particular position allows for the deepest possible penetration, making it possible for the sperm to reach closest to the cervix.
Lying side by side.
This position also causes a good exposure of the cervix to the male sperm.
Elevating the hips.
This can help as it exposes the female cervix to as much semen the man releases.
You can achieve this position by placing a pillow behind her.
Entering the woman from behind also known as The Rear-Entry Position.
In this position man enters the woman from behind and is a recommended position since the sperm is deposited very close to the cervix helping increase the chances of conception.
Female orgasm
Researches suggest the importance of the female orgasm in conceiving. Female orgasm leads to contractions which could push sperm up into the cervix. So take your time. Be playful and loving and have fun while trying to get pregnant.
