Gone are the days when pregnant women were expected to dress in dowdy tents. These days, mamas-to-be are HOT - and not afraid to show off their beautiful bumps! Your pregnancy is time for you to shine, and enjoy your shopping now: when the little one arrives, you'll be lucky to see the inside of a shopping mall.

One of the big problems I ran into with maternity clothes was the price. I couldn't rationalize spending a lot of cash on something that I could only wear for a few months. High-end department sell maternity jeans that come with a $200 price tag! Are you kidding me?! Spend that money on a really nice car seat!

I did a little digging, and found some truly fabulous and affordable maternity fashion. These were my favorite go-to websites for baby bump style.

OldNavy.com

Old Navy, how do I love thee? Let me count the bargains. Mine was a winter pregnancy, so I lived in their warm and cozy velour loungewear. I didn't even have to buy maternity: their velour outfits come in misses' and plus; just order up a size or two to accommodate for the baby belly. With generously cut jackets and drawstring pants, it was easy to make them work; I had them in four or five colors!

Old Navy does have a great maternity section, and they're constantly having awesome sales. Forget those $200 maternity jeans; Old Navy's maternity jeans are adorable and very reasonably priced. Their maternity collection includes casual and career pieces; they even carry nursing tops and maternity swimwear!

Target.com

I am the hugest Target fan; I get EVERYTHING there. Their maternity wear is by Liz Lange, a hot designer who created an affordable line exclusively for Target. They have a fantastic maternity career section, as well as comfortable casual-wear. Not as many sales as Old Navy; but the pieces are definitely high quality. One of my favorites: formal (yes, FORMAL) dresses for the pregnant diva. Love it!

BuddhaBellyMaternity.com

For the unique maternity piece you just can't find anywhere else, you have to check out Buddha Belly. Some of their most fabulous pieces are flowy, romantic tops and dresses. They don't have a huge selection, but the pieces they offer are flirty and very nicely priced. Also, their apparel is some of the most flattering maternity wear I've come across.

Wherever you shop, keep in mind that your baby bump is a beautiful thing, and it's more than okay to show it off. You've seen the stars on the red carpet; they aren't ashamed of their impending arrival! To look your best while sporting a bump, keep these tips in mind:

Stretch is your friend. Look for soft, stretchy blends like modal/spandex, pima cotton/spandex, and poly/rayon/spandex. (Hint: find lots of super soft and stretchy pieces at Buddha Belly!!)

Flowy is fabulous. Structured pieces, like crisp khakis and white button-down shirts, may look classy on the rack; but they're turn your bump into a mountain. Opt for figure-forgiving pieces. They're be more comfortable, too.

Speaking of comfort ... you can't go wrong with a body-happy wardrobe. Pregnancy does the craziest things to your body; you'll have aches and pains that would make an octogenarian weep! A comfy, casual, stretchy wardrobe is your best friend.
