I get it.

I get that losing weight is hard, that life gets busy, and that your health or weight loss isn't always at the top of your priorities.

Hey...I know exactly how it goes...I'm not going to pretend like there haven't been periods in my life where I didn't slack on my diet and exercise...But keep that little secret to yourself!

My point is that stuff happens! And I think that everyone knows that for most people there comes a time when weight loss just isn't as important, given the other things going on in your life.

So how are we supposed to lose weight, or worse, keep weight off while maintaining our busy schedules?

Well, what I'd like to talk to you about are 3 easy alterations you can make to your current diet...I'd like to give you 3 foods that you should switch around in your diet to save you calories and fat.

Sound good? Believe me, it's a lot easier to just eat something in place of something else that you'd eat anyways then to go on a "diet" or to start going to the gym several times a week.

Will it work as fast? No. Is it something to tide you over til you can make bigger changes? Yes. Of course.

Swap #1 – Sugar cereal for Bran cereal. You know who you are...I know people who are in their twenties who still wake up every day for a bowl of frosted flakes. Believe me, if that's you, then both your body and your brain will thank you if you make the move from the "sweet cereals" to a more healthy breakfast.

My suggestion is something like All Bran or Fiber One, perhaps some steel cut oats.

Swap #2 – Another great swap that you can make is switching from regular bacon and sausage to turkey bacon and sausage. I know that this is sort of turning into a breakfast theme, but this is another one that I just couldn't pass up.

Regular bacon and sausage has so much fat that it's surprising it's still legal, but switch to turkey and you're on the completely other end of the spectrum. Turkey is low fat and high protein...That means that not only is it way better for you, but it'll keep you fuller longer.

Swap #3 – The last swap I have for you is Skim milk instead of any other kind.

Now, again, many people already know that this is obvious, and yet, I never see anyone ACTUALLY drink skim milk. So let me try and sell you this one more time...

Skim milk is fat free, it's very high in protein so it keeps you full, and generally it's about 10 or 20 cents to the gallon cheaper than other types of milk.

So why not drink it?

Well, I hope that these swaps helped you out...I really do wish you luck in finding time to make it to your weight loss goals.
