Male infertility and low sperm count is a frustrating problem for many couples. The most common form of male infertility is a low sperm count. While there are medical options, such as artificial insemination, that may overcome a low sperm count, there are things that couples can try previous to resorting to such an intervention.

If you are having trouble conceives then fertility tests are likely to be high on your list of priorities. One such test is the sperm count test. This test measures the quantity of sperm in a unit volume of semen. Usually, there are 20 million to 150 million of sperm per milliliter. A sperm count lower that this indicate that a man maybe pain from fertility problems.

Causes of Low Sperm Count: -

•    Impotence, P.E, or psycho logic or relationship problems can contribute to infertility, although these conditions are usually very treatable.
•    Emotional Stress - Stress may interfere with the hormone Gn RH and reduce sperm counts.
•    Sexual Issues - In less than 1% of males with infertility problems, a problem with sexual intercourse or technique will affect fertility.
•    Drug abuse - marijuana or cocaine can reduce the volume of sperm by as much as 50%. Anabolic steroids can also affect this volume.
•    Lubricants used with condoms, including spermicidal, oils, and Vaseline, can affect fertility. If you need a sperm friendly lubricant, the choice of many couples trying to get pregnant is Pre-Seed.

A couple can take every step possible to ensure that they conceive as soon as possible. One way to increase the odds of conception is by increasing the man's sperm count. If you are trying to conceive and would like to know how you can try to increase your sperm count naturally, then follow these steps.

•    Eat Nutritious Food - Diet that's low in fat and high in protein, vegetables, and whole grains is good for your health and for your sperm. Avoid bitter, biting and spicy foods.
•    Take 200-400 iu Vitamin E daily, which helps balance hormone production. Wellness Essentials for Men has 50 iu. Vitamin E is also easy to supplement in your diet through eating almonds, cold pressed vegetable oils, dark leafy greens, legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, eggs, brown rice, kelp, milk, oatmeal, wheat, wheat germ, sweet potatoes and flax seeds.
•    Do not keep any working electronic devices at your lower body (including laptop, cell phone, etc.), because it can heat up your private parts temperature.
•    Have sex & masturbate less often - the more times you ejaculate, the less hard your semen will be. Uphold a gap of 3 days between two successive ejaculations.
•    Eat foods to eat to increase sperm virility, quality and production: scallions, lamb, shrimp, black beans, kidney beans, yams, clams and oysters.
•    Regular exercise is also a big part of a healthy lifestyle and will reduce stress hormones that may damage sperm. Getting in shape is good idea for fertility in general for both women and men. At the same time, over-exercise can be detrimental, and in particular avoid any exercises that my impact or stress the testicles.
