Drug Addiction or alcohol addiction is increasing due to the changing lifestyle and culture. Due to this, teenagers are the primary targets for the drug dealers. The reason lies behind the urge to try new things at such an innocent age. Therefore, proper knowledge and information is necessary for securing your kids and teenagers from becoming addicts.

Below are some of the tips which can help you keep away your teenaged kids away from drug abuse and alcoholism.  These are:

1.    Encourage your kids and teenagers to be engaged in extra-curricular activities. Once their minds are occupied with interesting and creative things, they will be least bothered to use drugs for pleasure.

2.    Give them appropriate information about drugs and their ill-effects on one's life. If they will know about the bad effects beforehand, they won't take interest in even trying it for fun. In addition to this, you can teach them about bad effects of excessive intake of alcohol. Well informed teenagers will take the right decision for their life and health.

3.    One must keep the prescribed medicines in a secured place and obviously away from kids and teenagers. Some prescribed medicines are very addictive in nature and can drag your kids in misusing them in your absence. So, it is better to take precautions than to look for drug rehab centers to overcome the issue.

4.    There is no problem in drinking alcohol at home in front of the growing children. But, it is not wise to keep abundant alcohol for future use. Teenagers have always the curiosity to experiment new things and they may misuse it in your absence. Educate them so that they should drink only after becoming eligible for drinking and should drink only in limits.

It is our duty to observe our kid's activities and instruct them about the various ill-effects caused due to alcoholism and drug abuse. Guide them to avoid unpleasant circumstances that can arise due to addiction.
