If you have a disability that restricts you from walking you will require assistance to get yourself around, that why most people will use a wheelchair for this purpose. One difficultly they have is normally climbing into or out of a vehicle.

Typically the user will require an assistance help to enter the vehicle after which the assistant will be needed to put the wheelchair into the trunk of the car before travelling. However this is changing with the aid of wheelchair lifts. The user is now hoisted directly into the vehicle with the wheelchair. This has made life much easier for the user when he enters a van or car.

Fitting a wheelchair lift to your vehicle

Once you have decided that a wheelchair lift is needed for you to gain access to your vehicle it is best to contact your dealership who will give advice and possibly arrange the work for you and soon you will have your own wheelchair lift.

Vans will normally be the vehicle of choice as they are much larger and easier to access then the smaller car. This additional size is required to allow easier access when entering or leaving the van. But, still most cars can have the wheelchair lift added too so in no time you be accessing your vehicle via the lift.

Handicapped Parking Spaces

If you have noticed typically most handicapped lots are much wider than the average car park lot. This is to allow for the additional room required for the wheelchair lift to work. You will need an extra one metre or two to get your wheelchair along side the ramp for you to comfortably access your car. So any where you see a handicapped lot you will have the additional space required to operate your wheelchair lift,

No More Inconvenience

If you use a wheelchair you will want to be independent and you will not want others helping you all the time. With today's technology the wheelchair lift can help you achieve this slightly more. You can find a place that sells the lift which should be most wheelchair shops or dealers.

So you life has just become simper, just roll up to the lift and press the level and you can enter your vehicle and no need people to help.
