In the case of kidney cancer one in ten women and one in four men gets it because of smoking. Stomach cancer can be prevented if smoking is avoided. There are evidences with relation to bowel cancer, lymphomas and breast cancer and smoking.
The effects of quitting smoke can differ depending on the type of cancer. For instance, a person susceptible to lung cancer can reduce to half the percent after ten years of quitting while in the case of laryngeal and oral cancer the disease disappears after ten years. But bladder cancer risks do not change even after twenty years of smoke quitting.
