Smoking Cessation

Doctors have appreciated the graphical picture warning method for tobacco products but the question is can they really change a smoker’s mind?

UK government has introduced graphic pictures indicating on devastating effects that tobacco can have on health . UK has become the first country in European Union to use this unique method.

Now cigarettes packets will have warning graphical images on them in place of written text messages. These graphics will include images like rotting teeth and lungs, throat cancer and many more.

The Health Department report says that written warning messages on the pack of cigarettes have really motivated plenty of chain smokers to quit smoking , but this graphical method can be more effective.

However, with the growth of efforts to educate people about the side effect of smoking, number of smoker’s is really decreasing but it is still the biggest cause of death through out the world.

The graphical warnings are expected to be even more effective than written warnings. Research shows that method of warnings should be changed periodically to maintain effectiveness. Smokers can likely remember the damage they are doing to their health by seeing a picture.

Graphics can really help to maintain the momentum of increased number of people who have quit smoking or seriously trying to this. These graphics can really help people to be more aware about there and there family health. These images can really help people to make up there mind to quit smoking.

Canada became the first country to introduce graphic warnings, in 2001. After one year, research found that it had significantly impacted the country’s smokers.

Cigarette Packets with graphical warnings are also used to sell in different countries like New Zealand, India, Australia, Singapore etc.
