I keep harping on the thoughts:Whatever we THINK, we become.Or if you think you can, you can.
Some of you tell me it's not possible and its ALL #$%^ (read BS!)... And...YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! Most of you would agree with the fact that if we think good things, and try to dodge the negative thoughts (you can only push the positive thoughts forward and ignore the bad ones), then only you will be able to move towards your goals, dreams or simply: DESTINY.
If one keeps thinking about how something CAN'T be done, then it wont be done for sure. Henry Ford couldn't have said it better:
"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't: YOU ARE RIGHT!"
I look around us and see a lot of negativity, 'frustration', doom. People tell us this cant happen, that is not how things are done here, one person can't change everything etc. And I think to myself: Am I the only fool who thinks differently? Or.... ? This funny, though very true, quote caught my attention a couple of days back:
"If you think you're toosmallto be effective, you have never been in bed with amosquito."
If someone like me, from a very very humble background can come to this level and still dreams of aiming for the moon, reaching new heights, then how could someone with apparently better tools, background, conditions and support from all around could be so despondent, negative or dreamless? A short poem by C.W. Longnecker which I posted a while ago on my blog sums it all up beautifully:
If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but you think you can't,
It is almost certain you won't.If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will.
It's all in the state of mind.If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But soon or late the man who wins,
Is the man who thinks he can.
Personally, I think ALL of us CAN. We are usually bogged down by the people around us, even our 'bestest' of friends, close relatives, even elders (and sometimes even our parents) tell us not to dream or not to deviate from the status quo. They tell us not to go for something too big, lest we will fall. They always mean good for us. They have our betterment in mind. But then, THEY DON'T KNOW! Bill Gates' father always wanted him to finish his studies and get a degree, but he was too busy changing the world and putting 'a computer in every office, every home'! When Gates was conferred upon an honorary doctorate by Harvard University, he said in his speech that he has been waiting to say this to his dad for 30 years:
'Dad, I always told you, I will come back and get my degree!'
Do I need to say more?
Dare to dream.
Shoot for the moon.
Have an extraordinary life!
