Being overweight and Belly Fat go hand in hand and hundreds of thousands of good folks lose their lives each year unnecessarily because of this problem. The belly is the primary place excessive bodyfat is stored. Different people become over weight for different reasons. Some people have a larger appetite and some people are just plain lazy. But being lazy isn't always your fault, because you've been conditioned by the media that it's okay to eat cake and ice cream then go to sleep.
If you don't take time to read the food labels on what you eat, you are basically eating unwisely. And many people simply eat what they want without regarding what these types of foods will do to their system. When you engage in these behaviors you are inviting belly fat to be stored within your body. Sometimes bacteria and well as other little critters make a comfortable home in your belly fat. If you have too much excess belly fat you will tend to live a lower quality of life than someone who is exercising regularly and is healthy. Your body has to move blood and oxygen throughout your body and when you are carrying too much weight it makes your body work harder to do this.
Also carrying excess belly fat tends to make you feel worse about yourself, and this is a psychological factor associated with storing too much belly fat. The media is always showing up people with six pack abs and women pretty enough to compete in miss america. And if you don't fell like this already or look like this, you figure what the heck I can never be like that anyway so I might as well just keep eating like I have been because there is no hope. If this is where you're at you are in a negative cycle that you will have to address and break as soon as possible.
Another problem with being too much overweight is finding the right clothes. Many people that are overweight find themselves shopping at stores like Big and Tall, which are very pricey, since they can't get their clothes at most local outlets. It can also cause problems with keeping a regular sleeping schedule as well as problem digesting foods. Sometimes overweight people even take sleeping pills to try to get on a consistent sleeping schedule but the problem with these are that they can become addictive.
