The problems with NuvaRing as a hormonal contraceptive resulted to a controversy that has brought its company numerous lawsuits. The latest lawsuit to come up accused the whole Organon organization of concealing Nuvaring information pertaining to its side effects. It was maintained that the public including the FDA was not properly notified regarding the problems with Nuvaring. NuvaRing against Traditional Hormonal Contraceptives. In the same light as the hormonal birth control pill, Nuvaring information indicates two synthetic hormones, the progestin and estrogen. While pills are taken orally and the birth control patch is applied to the skin for several days, the NuvaRing is inserted near the cervix. These are all different methods but for a common purpose, they aim at releasing the birth inhibiting hormones into the bloodstream to later on interact with other cyclical hormones to prevent pregnancy. Problems with Nuvaring against Problems in Traditional Birth Control Pills.
