Social attitudes towards smoking have altered dramatically in the past few years. All smokers are well aware of these and are continuously researching easy ways to stop smoking--just like you! Smokers are cutting back little by little to become a lonely minority, and they know that their habit is harming more people than merely themselves--thanks to passive smoke. Virtually everyone desires an easy way to stop smoking, but it’s a rare thing to find someone with a strong enough will to quit smoking in just 1 stroke, and not slowly and steadily. Abiding by a list of potent but successful practices to abolish the habit helps. Remember the significant ones, or write down all of them! They can be taped on the facing wall of your kitchen or put in the drawer of your work station at the office or home. The crucial matter for all is to have patience--plenty of it. Attitude acts as productive anchor for any habit to be shed--a shift in attitude and viewpoint. You will now be amazed to see so many easy ways to stop smoking. Throw away all cigarettes that are now accessible to you, all lighters, match boxes and ashtrays. Drink plenty of water, fruit juices, herbal teas or any other drink that is not effervescent. Keep yourself engaged most of the time--occupy yourself in watching television or a movie regularly or completing house chores. Talk to friends or colleagues more frequently, take on part-time work if unemployed or enroll in voluntary work, or join a church, etc. Play with something like a pencil or a pen to keep hands engrossed. Eat several small meals. If, in spite of the above suggestions, the urge to smoke hits, take deep breaths and hold for a couple of seconds. In fact, pranayama (a particular posture of yoga) helps smokers to discover a gentle way to stop smoking. After loyally following these acts, you will begin to feel and appear better every day and be astonished how easy it was to do something that you thought was insurmountable. Yes, there is an easy way to stop smoking- it begins by taking it easy.
