I switched majors to a subject that allowed me to think in the way that I did. I want you to understand that despite my learning disabilities and my difficulties in school, I still managed to find ways to deal with my dyslexia continuing to be a successful individual.

Stop Dyslexia Spelling Reading

This article will focus on tools a dyslexic can use when writing e-mails, papers or speaking with your boss, and taking multiple choice exams for job placement, certifications, or any other standardized test and following instructions in order to flip the negative aspects around into a positive way.

While traditional schooling probably proved to be difficult for you because of the way you look at the world, hopefully you encountered a caring teacher who understood your learning disability and showed you how to learn information in a different way.

Instead, like so many school aged children suffering from dyslexia, I was pinpointed as a "trouble maker" despite the fact that I was never sent to the Principal's office, or caused classroom disruptions. Personally, I believe teachers will sometimes overlook dyslexia because it takes more energy out of their class schedules to help a student learn.

Remember, this is something you can learn to live with and overcome with determination, dedication and hard work. Even though I understood biological and chemical principles, the way I thought about math problems so differently that it made it hard for me to communicate my thoughts about a given topic with my chemistry or biology professors.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

If you are just realizing this is a problem, there are a few tools I can give you to help you combat this embarrassing issue. " This can be an extremely embarrassing mistake to make when speaking with an employer, someone you're interviewing with or new people you just met.

If you find that you are thinking about things too fast, and thus stating something too quickly and fall into a flip flopping mistake, this is a tool that you should use. When conveying a message to another person or boss, and you tend to have a problem with conveying the correct message.

VERB AGREEMENTS

The first is what was discussed in the last section - slow down when you are speaking so you can compile your thoughts and construct a good sentence that will convey your message to another person.

So, this previous sentence is an example of a "dyslexic" moment, and unfortunately, a great example of how you would demonstrate to the person you are speaking with that you do not understand verb agreement.

Do not be afraid to correct yourself if correcting yourself means you are conveying yourself in a correct fashion.

WRITING

Also, if you find that you are not catching everything yet are still making mistakes, you may need to enlist a friend, loved one or professional editor to check your dyslexic mistakes.

In this fast paced business world of today, e-mails are usually answered quickly and efficiently, so you mustn't worry that your business pace will be slowed down in any way because of it. For dyslexics, writing is probably one of the best ways to communicate because one can go back and correct whatever they have written.

TAKING STANDARDIZED TESTS

If you answered a question where you seemed to miss what the question was asking of you, you need to do the following.

These tools will help you combat the problems you have when taking this type of an exam. This is important because you are identifying what is important in this question. This can be attributed to (find the answer that BEST answers this question)

The items underlined were feral cat population, is heavy, can be attributed to, and best. Standardized tests can be very difficult for dyslexics to take. The feral cat population is heavy in certain parts of the country.

Hopefully, you will find these tools helpful when you sit down to take a standardized exam. Dyslexics do this on a regular basis without knowing they did this, and are furious with his or her self when they inadvertently got the wrong answer.

Standardized test exams can be not only challenging, but increasingly frustrating and difficult. Please note:this must be an exam that you took in the past where you had studied all of required material thoroughly, otherwise, these tools will not help you in figuring out how to combat standardized tests.

INSTRUCTIONS

I find that following instructions can be a very difficult task for me depending on how the instructions are written. You will have to think about how to change your life to minimize these moments. I also find that using driving directions printed from MapQuest can be equally as difficult because of the way I look at maps and at the roads.

The only way to approach this type of problem is to reread and check your directions. Reading instructions can be extremely difficult for dyslexics because dyslexics may switch everything the instructions said in their head. With time though, I have figured out a variety of tools I can use to help me beat dyslexia in my adulthood. Stop Dyslexia Spelling Reading start working today.
