Today's world is a fast and hurried time. Keep up or suffer the consequences. Working hard and long hours is the norm. Survival is keeping up with the Joneses. Technology is growing by leaps and bounds. It is so easy to get lost in a world that you have trouble deciding whether you are coming or going.

Balance Your Life

How to balance your life is becoming more and more difficult. So what is the answer? There is an old, adage less is more. An easy cliché to say but what does it mean.

The less you have the more freedom you will have. The reason is simple. The less you have, the less you have to keep up. The less you have to keep up, the more time you will have. Life is simple, acquire what you need and limit the things you want.

Limiting is Not Easy

Limiting the things you want is difficult. This means you will have to decide what you really want, not what you think you want. Accomplishing this will free you up to live life.

Take note of the things you have bought and use very seldom if at all. Think of the things you enjoyed and now have little time to enjoy. Taking time to slow down and think of what you like and enjoy will help you to live life more contently. Ask yourself, are you working to live, or are you living to work?

Make a List

Now that you have slowed down enough to think, is it time to start a list of the things you want do or accomplish? Now, take time to smell the roses. Enjoy the simpler things in life. You will find there is peace in simplicity. You will find that more is indeed not better but is in fact, miserable. The passion for more possessions is a desire that never seems to be fulfilled.
