You no doubt have seen Acai berry products everywhere. You can purchase them pretty much anywhere, even at your local Target or Wal-Mart! So with the market being flooded with Acai products here are some helpful tips how you can get all the nutrients that makes this little berry a renowned super food, at the right price.

There are basically 3 forms of Acai which is why you see prices all over the place.
Unless you live in Amazon, you will not be able to consume the fresh acai berry. Why? Because this potent super food starts to lose its nutrients within 24 hours of being harvested and needs to be processed.
Some companies cut corners and use cheap methods to process the berry, while others want to process the berry with integrity preserving all the nutrients nature intended.
Freeze Dried Acai- This form contains the acai skin and pulp and is the absolute best way to get all the nutritional benefits you are seeking. Dr Alexander Schauss, PHD, is a renowned expert on the acai berry. His studies show this freeze dried form to be the highest quality and most effective form available. This process captures the acai's vital antioxidants and other nutrients and has the highest ORAC score (this measures antioxidant content) of any fruit or vegetable tested.
Spray Dried Acai- This form is very cheap to make and cheap to buy. This process uses extremely high temperatures. The acai berry is very delicate and this degree of heat destroys most of the nutrients. After the acai berry is heated and the water is removed, they are sprayed with a carrying agent (Maltodexterin). Since this chemical agent is added in the manufacturing process it is not considered and added ingredient, so you will not see it on the label. However, this "added" ingredient can dilute the final product by up to 30%. Not to mention your body has the burden of filtering out this chemical.
Acai Berry Extract- You probably already guessed, but this process extracts chemicals from the plants and contains very little of the nutrients.
