The cosmic humanist perspective centers on its theological pantheism and philosophical monism, stating that If each person is God, then all final authority resides within, and individual must seek the freedom to act in harmony with their inner truth, hence individual autonomy is the only ethical absolute promoted by the New Age Movement. Marilyn Ferguson writes, "Most importantly, when people become autonomous, their values become internal. Shakti Gawain called for total sexual freedom discouraging setting limits on your sexual energy. The Cosmic Humanist worldview discourages man to appreciate the restrictions of the Ten Commandments which hinders One's evolution any growth. Ethical RelativismFerguson states that "Autonomous human beings can create and invent. And they can change their minds responding to values they once held". The Unity of Good and EvilEthical relationship has led the cosmic Humanist to a point whereby good and evil cannot be clearly distinguished. But these two opposite qualities can only be defined on individual basis. Also, the New Ages have a concept referred to KARMA which states that what may appear evil in this life could be the reverse in a reincarnated existence and Maclaine further emphasizes that whatever action one takes will ultimately return to that person, good and bad, maybe not in this Life but Life after. Ferguson stated explicitly that wholeness unites opposite and thus there is neither good nor evil. And David spangler states too that Christ is the same force as Lucifer and Lucifer works within each of us to bring us to wholeness as we move to the new age. The cosmic Humanist also agree that war, murder e.t.c are part of the evolutionary flow and struggle of reality. The cosmic Humanist point of view must mediate and concentrate inwards, where his God is, but never hold others accountable to his system. Nothing is really wrong except judging other people's moral beliefs and actions. This idea sounds incredible because, if followed, we can call murder relatively not evil and believe that murderers are carried out by God on God. Critical EvaluationJust like in secular Humanist ethics and Relativism. Cosmic Humanist view emphasizes on tolerance and never judging people but rather judging oneself on the basis of one's self-morality. This is quite humane and partly Christian. But for how long and to what extent and magnitude of conduct from people should an individual tolerate? According to Ferguson, wholeness unites opposites, but I believe there is no unity when two cannot unite to form wholeness, thus such a theory is annulled. It is just like saying Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (the president of Iran) and Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu (the prime minister of Israel) are the same force and can form wholeness. Likewise the illustration of Jesus and Lucifer being the same force is totally blasphemous. With the divine morality of God, acknowledging and putting into practice the rules he has set for us, we'll be able to tolerate and live comfortably with each other. If Mr.A kills the son of Mr.B, being a Christian Mr.B should be able to tolerate Mr.A and forgive him whole heartedly. But if Mr.A decided to intrude into Mr.B's house to harass his family, Mr.B has the right to call the police, should in case Mr.A refuses to leave after strong opposition. So, we can conclude that divine morality from God envelops both spiritual and logical reasoning all at once. But when using the cosmic humanist sense in both cases, Mr.B should just watch Mr.A do 'his thing' without opposing because he does not want to judge him and also not responsible for why Mr.A is doing it?After all he never looked for anyone's trouble, right? This is ridiculous! Can such a tolerance level exist in this world we are living? Such a theory easily masks evil with good and allows good to be polluted by evil as well. And I bet you that even if it is based on good intentions, it is a theory that can easily be terribly abused by Man. Imagine a dedicated and religiously cosmic follower living in a community of hoodlums who knows his obligatory way of life in submission to his beliefs. You need not be told what the scenario would look like. On the opposite, as the Christian ethics preaches on tolerance to the highest order, it still expects us to be wise in situations like this and permits us to righteously fight for our rights as well. You have to be out of this world to live as a well dedicated cosmic humanist. So I think!
