"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty" Proverbs 14:23 Invest: verb. To use, give, or devote (time, talent, etc.), as for a purpose or toachieve something
The great investment, is the most beneficial and fulfilling investment a human can make. It is the investment in ourselves. Currently, the majority of us are investing in things that don't benefit our future. There is probably someone out there who is heavily investing all of their time into a job they can't stand, when they know they would rather change careers or start a new business. Someone else is investing all of their energy in a relationship they know, without a doubt, is toxic. Yet, another person is investing in sitting idle while their dreams fall by the wayside. And then, there is someone who is investing in their fears and deciding not to take action on their goals, because they think they will fail.
With each investment, there is an expected return of some sort. When you invest in non-producing actions or negative thoughts, feelings or people, your returns are negative as well. You get exactly what you put in. There may be sacrifices that come with the Great Investment, and that can be frightening. But, wouldn't you rather take the chance and go for it, then to always wonder what if?
Instead let's invest in ourfaith(by stepping out there and believing all things are possible), ourdreams(by looking further into what is needed to make them a reality), ourfuture(by putting the energy into getting what we really want), ourhappiness(by discovering what is missing in our lives) and our healthyrelationships(by giving and receiving love and opening up with great communication).
The Great Investment, simply put, is about investing in ourselves and our potential, because we're worth it. "Invest in the human soul. Who knows, it might be a diamond in the rough." -Mary McLeod Bethune
