When people suffer from an illness or condition it is beneficial to understand how it works. Hair loss is no different. People want to know how the balding process works. In order to truly understand how the hair loss growth process works though, you must first understand how the natural hair growth process works.

The natural hair growth process in its true form is just phases of growing and resting. The growth phase can last for as little as two years or as long as six years. The average person's hair grows half an inch per month, though some people's hair grows faster and others don't grow quite as fast. Once it has completed the growth phase, it enters the resting phase. He hair just rests for three to four months and once it has completed this phase it is shed from your head. Once the hair strand has shed, the hair follicle will begin growing a new strand of hair in its place. Normal hair loss is anywhere from fifty to one hundred strands of hair per day.

The balding process happens when something interferes with the natural hair growth process. This can happen in a few different ways. The most common is that something attacks the hair follicle and makes it stay in the resting phase indefinitely and then ultimately dies. Once the hair follicle dies, you will never grow hair from that follicle. It could even just be a matter of your hair is not receiving the proper nutrients and therefore cannot grow and cannot complete the growth cycle, causing you to shed your hair.

The balding process is different for every person. There are different reasons it may happen and may happen in different ways. Men usually experience hair loss that starts as just a receding hairline, but then keeps receding until the entire top of their head is bald, but usually they keep the hair on the sides and back of their head. For women, the balding process is just a matter of the hair thinning all over the head. It will just continue to thin until there is no more hair. This can happen for many different reasons. It can be due to genetics. It can be sue to medical problems. It can even be to major trauma to the body. Medication will even make you lose your hair in some cases.

The balding process happens to many people for many different reasons. The good thing though is that you can stop the balding process. You do not have to let yourself go bald. As soon as you start noticing that you are losing hair, you just need to visit your doctor. He or she can examine you to find the cause of your hair loss and find the best treatment for you. Starting treatment as soon as possible is the key to getting the best results out of whatever treatment process you decide to go with to end the balding process in your life.
