Appearance is one of the main things women think about. This is evident from the billions of dollars spent each year on beauty products. Women put on face creams to make their skin look great, make sure to workout as much as possible and spend plenty of time in front of the mirror trying to perfect their appearance. However, without hair it is hard for a woman to have the good self image she wants to have. There are many causes of female baldness. They can range from genetics, hormones and even nutrition.

Nutrition is one of the many causes of female hair loss. A proper diet will ensure your hair grows in full and beautiful. However not having enough nutrients like protein and vitamins and minerals. Vegetarians need to be conscious of their eating habits to make sure they do not end up with hair loss, as meat is a great way to get protein into your body. Women with eating disorders like anorexia or bulimia are at higher risks of losing their hair. This is because they either are not getting the proper nutrition for their hair because they are not eating or because they are voiding.

Genetics depict many of the different characteristics your body has. From your eye color, bone structure, height and even different diseases you are at a greater predisposition to get. Genetics can also determine hair loss. Studies have found that the genes that cause hair loss come from your mother's side. So if you mother is balding and her mother is balding, there is a good chance you will struggle with baldness. Another way that hair loss can occur is from female patter baldness. This is characterized by balding all over the head and the cause is attributed to an excess of testosterone in the woman's body.

Another one of the causes of female balding is hormones. Many women love the way their hair looks when they are pregnant. It is shiny and thick and can help you feel better when you are feeling fat and cannot even see your feet. However, after giving birth many women find that hair seems to be falling out in droves. This type of balding is from the hormones trying to level out. It will usually correct itself with out medication within a few months, once your hormones go back to the way they were before baby.  The change of life can also cause a woman to lose her hair. The hormones go out of wack at this stage of a woman's life. This can make the hormones that control your hair do all sorts of things. It can cause more hair than normal to fall out. It can even stop new hair from growing in.

There are many other causes of female baldness. It can come from stress, medications or many other things. Understanding what is causing your hair loss is the first way of determining the proper way of treating it, after all, knowledge is power.
