Times have changed in many ways for teenage girls today. They are mobile, have access to modern communications and often receive money or can work to give them some independence. But society has changed too. Many teenage girls find themselves in trouble with their parents, their teachers and even with the law. Parents of a troubled teenage daughter often wonder how they can help their child. One such way is to use a boot camp.

The pressures of society today can have a bad influence on young girls. They may watch TV and read magazines and become depressed about their self-image. They may worry about body shape and feel like a failure. This can lead to depression, isolation and eating disorders. A boot camp with a program to overcome such problems could be a turning point in the life of these teenage girls.

Another way society has changed is that girls are kept at school well into their teen years when in fact they are physically capable of becoming mothers. To some teens this causes confusion. Their hormones are highly active yet their thoughts of marriage and motherhood are put aside as schoolwork requires their time and concentration. Again this is where the right program in a boot camp can help. Discussion groups with trained and experienced team leaders will assist young teenage girls to better understand what is happening to them. The girls are empowered. They gain knowledge and the ability to consider their options. They are put in charge of their thinking and planning.

Most teenage girls are capable of talking for hours on the phone to their friends. This can be a bad thing. It means time they are not studying or being active in wholesome pursuits. And it's possible the phone conversations can become catty and negative. Being critical of others is not a healthy pursuit. At a boot camp, teenage girls are shown how to engage in positive communication, how to be a better person by turning away from spiteful and nasty conversations. The girls are encouraged to set worthwhile goals and plan how to achieve their goals.

Self confidence is a wonderful asset for any teenage girl. This is one goal of a boot camp. They aim to show to their charges that every young woman can take pride in her appearance and in her achievements. Sadly some teens feel they are only worth something if they have a boyfriend. The boot camp programs set out to show girls how they have self importance and how their life is made whole when they believe in themselves.

Another clear goal of a boot camp program is to instill responsibility into teenage girls. Once a troubled teen learns how to be responsible, firstly for themselves, and then for others, they become a valued and valuable member of society. They have self worth in the eyes of their family, school and community. Parents with a troubled teenage daughter will do well to investigate the possibilities of helping their girl by placing them in a stay at a boot camp.
