Whether you call it opium, or a narcotic by any other name, the results are the same.  Karl Marx said that religion was an opium of the people. A Narcotic is defined as a drug as opium or morphine that in moderate doses relieves pain and induces deep sleep. Excessive use can cause tremors and seizures. Much of Christianity (as well as other religions) have been SEIZED UP for 2,000 years due to the "Sinner Narcotic".

After twenty centuries of telling people what low down dirty dogs they are how does one develop an INSUPERABLE alternative to dispel the untruths?

Of all the religions, Christianity has the best track record for the concept of FORGIVENESS, but one of the worst for the quality of beings that we are. Since it's said from Genesis, chapter 1, that we have been created in the IMAGE of God, how does one justify the trashing of the human psyche to the degree that's been practiced, and continues today.

Just look at the evangelistic method employed by most mainstream religions.

You are a sinner and have been since the foundation of the world (original sin). You are lost in your trespasses and sins. The exaltation of human wretchedness has been extreme. It's even a "place of honor" to say how rotten to the core that you are. In some religions the beating of one's back until it runs red with blood is a mark of acceptance. Pulpits ring out with the challenge for people to flatten themselves on the floor as snakes and confess that they are but filthy rags.

Whoa partner! This is the "image of God"?

The Christian world is enveloped in maelstroms of sins and unrighteousness; however, that's not what I'm seeing or hearing. Maybe I'm listening to a radically different station or channel. The God that Jesus envisioned to me was that of a loving Father who is always forgiving. I can imagine that voice within each of us (our divine spirit if we'd but pay attention) telling us to get up off the damn floor, quit groveling for favor, and stand up and BE a true son or daughter of the Creator.

We were not created to eat crumbs and beg bread!

We were created to TAKE DOMINION and that happens not by POWER or FORCE of physical MIGHT, but by BEING and demonstrating the LOVE creations that we ARE. Awaken from the religious narcotic of sin, sin management, doctrinal  subservience, stand tall and usher in the Kingdom of God in our own lives. The world is in desperate need of some good, Godly (not talking rules and law here) examples to follow.

Are you game? If so, let the LOVE FLOW! We're all more, much more, than lowly worms worthy of being trod upon.
