Almost all people have ever felt sleepy at noon. However, for some people, this habit can disturb their jobs, activities, and even holidays. The excessive sleepiness at noon is called as hypersomnia. This is the situation in which sleepiness comes many times over, so the sufferer wants to sleep at noon time after time.

This problem is usually begun at night. Even, you can feel tired and your mood goes down because you slide over some bed times at night or your bed time is often disturbed. The bad sleeping habit can be the causal factor of sleepiness at noon. That is why, to prevent this habit to become worse, try to do the following steps to make the quality of your sleeping at night better.

1. Sleep at night sufficiently

Unconsciously, most people often slide over their bed times at night for 1 up to 2 hours to do other activities. Most adult people need to sleep for 7-9 hours at night, while teenagers need to sleep for 9 hours. So, make sure to sleep for 8-9 hours every night.

2. Clean your bed from any disturbance

You should specialize your bed to sleep and make love. Avoid your will to watch television, play video games, or use laptop while sleeping on bed. Also, do not be fixated to discuss on your bed. Those all activities can make you get difficulty to sleep.

3. Be consistent with your waking hours

If you experience sleepiness at noon, you should sleep and wake up in the same time every day, including at weekend. However, you will get frustrated if you do this when you suffer from insomnia. That is why, for you who suffer from insomnia, you should only be consistent with your waking hours. Do this step for some weeks or months to make it as habit. If you do this step but you still get difficulty to sleep at night, you will surely feel sleepy in the following day.

4. Sleep earlier

5. Arrange your eating time consistently

You need to rearrange not only your bed time, but also your eating time. This step should be done to help improve your sleeping quality. Having breakfast and having lunch that is healthy and on time will prevent you from the energy deficiency at noon. And, make sure to have dinner at least 2-3 hours before sleeping.

6. Do sport

Doing sport, especially aerobic can help your body calm down, so you can sleep at night. Besides, doing sport can give you energy and help you think smarter. However, avoid to do sport 3 hours before sleeping.

7. Fix your schedule

If you feel that you cannot sleep for 8 hours at night, you can fix your daily schedule. Move some activities at night to other times and reduce the activity that is not too important. Sleeping sufficiently at noon can help you experience your day better.

8. Pay attention to your bed time at noon

This step should be done because sleeping at noon too late can disturb your bed time at night. So, avoid sleeping in the evening.

9. Create a relaxing bed ritual

It could be by doing meditation, bathing in warm water, listening to relaxing music, or reading a book. Those all activities can reduce your stress.

10. Meet your doctor

Hypersomnia can make you get sleeping disturbance. If you feel tired at noon even though you can sleep well at night, you may have sleeping disturbance. So, it is suggested to you to meet your doctor to consult about it.
