If you love listening to live music, then you probably also love sitting just a little bit too close to the front row at concerts. Even local shows can really get those ears ringing but you should know that there are other causes of ringing in ears, not just last nights concert.

Here are a few ways to help deal with that ringing in your ears.

Cut Back on Sodium

Sodium and salt affect your body in adverse ways when it comes to your blood. And your blood is the main thing affecting that ringing in your ears. When it's too thin and pumping too fast, it can seriously affect your ear drums. Eat healthy, cut back on salt, sweets and soda pop, and drink more water.

Get Away From the Noise

As much as it sucks to have to cut out of the show early, the fact remains that prolonged exposure to the sounds that are causing the ringing can actually lead to permanent and major hearing loss. Don't let this happen to you. Even if you already paid the ten dollar cover charge and the show's only halfway over, don't expose yourself to more noise than you can handle. At the very least, step out back or something, have a smoke or finish your drink, and go back in once the ringing has subsided.

Watch the Smokes, Booze and Caffeine

All those "mother's little helpers" you use to get through the day can have an adverse affect, putting all those little hairs in your ears on end. This even goes for junk food and, really, anything you use to get your kicks. It's more the visceral response than anything chemical or physical. When your body gets that substance it craves, it goes on overdrives and gives you that buzzing in your ears. So watch your addictions and take it easy.

Check your Pulse

It's all about your circulation. The prime cause of that ringing in ears symptom comes from your blood flowing too fast through your body or flowing irregularly. Take a moment to relax, pinch your wrist and see how you're doing. In case you haven't noticed yet, it's really all about keeping your body in check.

The truth is, you're really just going to have to ride it out. There's no way to just instantly clear up ringing ears. No matter what you try, you're going to have to put up with it for a minute or two. But take care of yourself and know when it's time to call it a night, and you should, at the very least, be able to reduce the suffering, and avoid the possibility of permanent hearing loss.
