The answer is proper time management! We help you figure out what time management for a college student is all about, what life at college demands and how to get the most out of your academic, social and eventually, career goals all through utilizing your time in college well.

College is the place where you need to also chalk out your majors, decide on career goals, choose what extra curricular activities you’d like to pursue – all of which call for prioritizing big-time and thus, time management skills!

Yes, that is the answer to enjoying a fulfilling and varied college life, especially if you’ve had it done for you like in a high school time-table and scheduling done by teachers, counselors and parents etc. Even if you had friends deciding major stuff for you back in high school, college is a whole new ball game altogether – and you may not even have the same friends here, so you’d better get used to the idea of making your own decisions. More importantly, making the right ones – so you get the most out of your college career!

Some of you may have had issues with meeting project deadlines and other study assignments in the past – yes, it’s a common complaint of many students that they can’t study till the last minute! But, you can’t hold on to that attitude, which is more like an excuse to put-off tasks you’d rather not deal with, till such time as it’s unavoidable so you may as well get over with it!

Yes, too many college students cannot manage their time to fit in all the activities they’d love to pursue; some regret not having studied enough, some having only devoted time to academics and lost out on social pursuits. Whatever the case with your friends may be, you need to understand where your priorities lie and decide for yourself what is most important to you as these golden years once gone down in the sands of time can never be retrieved, so use them well.

In college you can expect a lot more competition and thus added levels of performance anxiety due to more students being there than at any high-school; besides having to decide which subject to major in, socializing issues, campus living matters and perhaps even financial (tuition etc.) issues may surface to demand your attention. So, how do you cope with all these tasks competently?

Prioritize your ‘to-do’ list according to a chart for academic and personal tasks you list there; make regular entries as you get to know things like semester projects, deadlines, social events to attend, chores to run etc. Follow this timetable strictly and build a certain discipline towards tackling all necessary tasks so you no longer face guilt, regrets and stress over having to deal with everything in one go. You’ll find you can lead an orderly life, accomplish more, worry less and feel happy in the bargain – all with basic time management. Get more out of life – get organized, now!
