Are you having a tough time imposing all the rules of time management you had earlier written down? Do you feel stressed out and depressed that it did not work out the way you expected it to?

This is nothing to worry about as it can happen to anyone. Students, especially, need some time to work out their time management skills. Here are a few useful tips which you can follow to make sure your plans do not fail:

1. Enjoy your work. Do not crib about your job or study. Try to find something enjoyable in everything you set out to do.

2. Use your time effectively. Do not try to save or waste time too much.

3. Keep telling yourself that there is always time for important things. If you know it is important, you sure can make it. Have a positive outset always.

4. Learn from mistakes and never regret things you have already done.

5. Do a lot of practice problems and use review notes wherever possible. Avoid wasting too much time.

6. Always look for free time and utilize them to the fullest.

7. Keep revising and manipulating your goals yet to be achieved. Do it on a monthly basis and write notes or reviews after every achievement.

8. Always use a paper calendar and jot down things that are very important. Keep updating your status and review them every week.

9. Sit out for half hour before you sleep to plan everything for the next day. Always be ahead in what you plan.

10. Long term goals always have to be kept in mind. Reminders and alarms may help your case.

11. Try to anticipate and look ahead of a month's time. Look through your schedule and analyze things carefully.

12. Always assign specific things to be done each day by setting your priorities right. Plan in a way such that the major tasks are finished early and the not so important tasks are done a bit late. Evaluate each day's progress.

13. Confidence is the key. Be optimistic about the things you are doing and also try to be a little conscious about it.

14. First things first. That is a golden rule when it comes to time management.

15. Do the toughest part of your projects first up. You will realize that it is easier to do the other parts in quick succession.

16. If you find yourself postponing things, as yourself why you are doing it.

17. Find some time to do your high priority work.

18. Alert yourself hen you are involved in some unimportant projects or activities. Make sure you do not waste much time in those.

19. To get a nod over others, put some extra effort in activities that fetch you long term results.

20. Always concentrate on one thing in hand at a time.

21. Follow your plans put on paper. Never try to cheat on yourself.

22. Keep pushing yourself continuously. Support yourself when you are down.

23. Ask advice when you need them the most.

24. Whenever possible, delegate certain responsibilities.

25. Set deadlines and time alerts in things you do.

There are tie management sheets available in stores which you can use them. Usually, the university provides you the sheets. Write down your schedule in them and also the personal activities can be noted down. Make plans for the week, as well as for the month. Try to follow them to the best of your ability.
