Take stock of your life. Where are you right now? So you are single. For now that is God’s assigned season for your life, so live in the moment and make the best of it.
Seasons do change—but wearing summer clothes in the middle of winter has never made summer come any sooner. Therefore, deal with where you are in life with gusto. Find out what God would have you do to occupy your time, talents and energy this day, this week and try not to look any further. Jesus said to concentrate on today for tomorrow and its troubles would come soon enough. I can testify to that!
There will never be a time like right now in your life to do all that you have ever longed to do—to accomplish whatever goals you have set for yourself. And yes, you should have goals. A woman without a vision for her life will perish as sure as she is born. God did not create you to simply exist. He fashioned you with something to do, so find out what it is and get busy.
If you play the cards that you have been dealt, you will make room for a new deck. Begin with where you are and be faithful with the little things. Would you or your abode look different if you were married? Then get busy fixing it. When you are ready, He will come, and if He delays you will still be living up to your full potential, which always releases a flood of joy and a sense of great accomplishment. Go ahead; get on with the business of living the immediate life to the fullest. Be all that you can be now.
So many times we put off for tomorrow what should be done today. Today’s treasures are buried under our longing for what we think tomorrow will bring. The enemy of our souls keeps us distracted from the present by binding us to worrying about our future!
The bottom line: today is today. It comes complete with its own set of joys and mini dramas. Leave tomorrow alone, for it will come soon enough. For now, choose to embrace what is available and possible and enjoy it. Choose to live in the moment and collect wonderful memories. After all, in the end all you will have is your remembrance of yesterday once the next new day dawns. You will either live to regret it or celebrate it—the choice is yours.
Understanding the importance of resting in God’s timing helps us put our priorities in order before we talk about love and men. Number one—we were created for God. Number two—we were created to be worshippers. And number three—we were created as a mate for His Son Jesus. None of us are here by chance. We are here on purpose with a divine reason and in God’s perfect timing. God had something in mind when He formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were conceived He knew you. Is that deep or what?
Our lives are like a movie. First there was the screenplay—God had a vision of how everything would go. Then He cast you in the leading role. Remember the role existed before you filled it.
When you started reading the script you ran into conflict, but God was not surprised by the twist and turns in the plot because He already knew about them. He also knows the end of the story and does not allow anyone to rewrite it. He wants us to stick to the script, and when we do, the perfect design of our purpose becomes clear and the story has a happy ending.
The boy gets the girl and they live happily ever after or the girl simply gets a life and lives happily ever after.
The script that God has written for your life is one of eternal love and fulfillment but will only take place if we follow His direction. Yes, He is also the director of the movie. If we allow Him to edit out the bad scenes and splice together the parts that are pleasing to Him, a beautiful story will unfold. Award winning stuff. The type of story that will fulfill His purpose and bring Him glory. Christian Counselor is always available to help you out.
And what do you get out of the deal? You get joy, power, peace and a whole lot of exciting scenes and surprising sequels above and beyond anything that you have ever imagined.
