If you hear a ringing noise or any other kind of noises like, buzzing, hissing, humming etc in one or both of your ears, this is what is known as Tinnitus. This sound may continue for 24 hours or longer without any let up. Tinnitus occurs not only in the outer, middle and inner ear but in the brain too.Tinnitus At Young Age

First of all it is important for you to understand that Tinnitus is itself not a disease, it is a resulting symptom of a variety of causes. However, no particular cause is more pertinent than the other and the exact cause may never be determined.

Let us have a look at some of the popularly known causes,

Exposure to Loud Noise : If you are continually exposed to loud and high intensity noise, its harmful effects can be one of the prime causes of Tinnitus.

Ear Infections : Damage to the endings of the hearing nerve in the inner ear, middle ear bones or ear drum fluid, infection etc. or even if you have presence of any foreign body or wax in the ear, this can also lead to Tinnitus.

Side effect of Medications : High dosage of oral medications can also lead to temporary or even permanent Tinnitus. Therefore, it is always advisable that you consult your doctor as to whether the side effect of any his prescribed medicine's could lead to the condition. /?020710" Tinnitus At Young Age

Age : Tinnitus is generally rare at a young age. With advancing age people develop hearing nerve impairment, which in turn can also lead to Tinnitus.

Widely speaking, there are two different kinds of Tinnitus namely, Subjective Tinnitus and Objective Tinnitus. Subjective Tinnitus is more commonly found and may be caused by neurological, metabolic, or psychogenic disorders. In this case, only you will hear the noise, and no other person can hear it..

Objective Tinnitus is usually caused by vascular or muscular abnormalities. In this case, apart from you, the sound can also be heard by people around you. However, this condition very rare.Tinnitus At Young Age

The continuous ringing in your ears not only gives you a feeling of utter despair, but sometimes, even leads to trauma. As there can be several reasons that lead to Tinnitus, and no specific cause is known, it is indeed difficult to treat a Tinnitus patient. As of now, there is no cure available for Tinnitus. Research is still going on to find a cure to this problem.

It is obvious from all of this, that the causes of Tinnitus are highly individual specific. Depending upon the information you provide to your doctor, he/she will decipher the possible causes for your Tinnitus.

A permanent Tinnitus patient may possibly be prescribed medication, and it is often found that Tinnitus disappears without any notice. In other cases, where the tinnitus does not disappear, the patient unfortunately has to live with this disability for the rest of their life. /?020710" Tinnitus At Young Age
