The symptoms of tinnitus needn't be just sounds, there are also physical symptoms, all of which have underlying causes. Discover here the symptoms, causes and risk factors for tinnitus, plus, some tips of how to treat your tinnitus naturally.

It is reckoned that some 50 million Americans have tinnitus, and that 12 million of those go on to seek help for it. I've seen a figure that says that about 93% of sufferers never get total relief from their tinnitus, and that around 2 million Americans are unable to function normally because of it.

These are disturbing figures, and show just how serious tinnitus can be, and how much it is misunderstood, especially when you consider those figures in the context of the wider world.

Tinnitus Symptoms

Tinnitus symptoms are the noises a sufferer hears in their ears, when there is no external source for those noises, i.e. they are produced, or at least perceived, internally. Different sufferers will hear different sorts of noise depending to a large extent on the underlying cause of the tinnitus and how severe the condition is.

Typical of the range of sounds are; whooshing, ringing, swishing, roaring, hissing, knocking, ticking, clicking, whistling, etc. And there may be other distressing symptoms such as nausea and dizziness, arising of course from the underlying cause(s) of tinnitus.

Tinnitus Causes

And this is a very important realization, that tinnitus isn't a disease or illness, it's a condition that arises because of underlying causes that manifest themselves in internally produced sounds. The causes can be generally grouped under the following broad headings; hearing damage, stress / anxiety, sinus problems and / or allergies, Meniere's disease.

Within these broad groups you have things like; head / neck trauma, whiplash, inner ear / auditory nerve damage, age-related hearing loss, ear infections, hearing damaged through excessive noise, otosclerosis, blocked eustachian tube, hypertension, anaemia, excessive medication, and so on.

Tinnitus Risk Factors

It is clear from this that the people perhaps most at risk of tinnitus are folks who work in noisy environments, who listen to too high volume music (e.g. earpieces, phones, in-car systems, etc.), who suffer head or neck injury, are on some long term medications (e.g. aspirin, antibiotics, etc.), suffer from high blood pressure, are anaemic, have high cholesterol (e.g. hardening of the arteries), suffer from anxiety disorder, etc.

Mainstream Treatment for Tinnitus

Mainstream treatment can consist of drug-based medications and other therapies. The drugs can have bad side effects which put many people off. But there are other things like tinnitus maskers, hearing aids, electrical stimulation, bio-feedback, acupuncture, yoga, etc. Unfortunately, these usually just give some short term respite; remember the figure at the beginning where 93% never get complete tinnitus relief.

Natural Tinnitus Remedies

Fortunately, there's an exciting natural home remedy with a far higher success rate (80%) than mainstream treatment. It utilizes simple techniques that you go through at home, or, at work, in a few minutes each day. All of the techniques have been proven during 2 years of research, testing and development, and, are being used around the world everyday.

So if your tinnitus symptoms are driving you crazy then check-out this proven program by going to and see how these 11 Secret Techniques will get your life back on track.
