/? 210510" Tips For Setting Goals

People always ask me how I was able to set goals after my life had hit rock-bottom. When you're struggling just to get through your days, success can seem unattainable. How can you pull yourself together long enough to plan out your goals, much less take the first steps toward achievement?

You have to set a goal to achieve a goal. Throughout history, the greatest artists and scientists had something in common: they had an idea of what they wanted to accomplish, and they threw themselves at that idea until they made it a reality. Their single-minded determination resulted in truly stunning achievements.

Now, you might be thinking, "That's nice, but what does that have to do with me?" If, like many modern folks, you're exhausted, stressed out, or depressed, it might be difficult to imagine making big changes in your life. What you need is a plan, a course of action broken down into small steps. Goals measured in smaller increments seem more manageable, and a solid plan will ensure that you don't waste time or energy running around in circles. Let's take a look at how you can use a simple 5-step plan to keep your eyes on the goal. /? 210510" Tips For Setting Goals

Goal-Setting in 5 Easy Steps

There's no right way to set goals. What works for some people doesn't work so well for others. Just look at any book about goal-setting, and you'll find dozens of suggestions that make your head spin. Take a deep breath and forget everything you've read elsewhere; it's time for a fresh start with a plan that really works. How do I know it works? Because it's the plan I used in my darkest days. It's helped change the lives of many people. Now it's time to put it to work for you. So, without further delay...

Step One.Purchase a small journal and keep it near your bed.
Step Two.Think of ten things you want to accomplish. Just before you go to sleep, write those goals in your journal.Tips For Setting Goals

Step Three. After you wake up, flip to a new journal page and repeat step 2. You might come up with different goals, and that's fine. Just consider the ten things you most want to achieve, and avoid looking at what you wrote the previous night.

Step Four. Before bed, repeat step 3. Again, don't worry if you think of different goals. Just focus on what's important to you at the time. Don't look at what you wrote before; you want to start each list with a fresh mind.

Step Five.Keep it up. The idea is to make yourself really think hard about what you want. That's why it's important not to be influenced by what you wrote previously. It might be hard, but you should avoid reading your older lists. /? 210510" Tips For Setting Goals
