Choosing your Maid/Matron of Honor and Best Man can be difficult especially if you have several people that are close to you. It can be anyone, so don’t rule anyone out. It could be a parent, close brother or sister, longtime friend or cousin. Choosing your Maid/Matron of Honor and Best Man can be difficult especially if you have several people that are close to you. It can be anyone, so don’t rule anyone out. It could be a parent, close brother or sister, longtime friend or cousin. Remember what their roles are suppose to be at your event, as you narrow your list. Roles and Responsibilities of the Maid/Matron of Honor:
- Provide moral support and advice as the wedding day approaches
- Precedes the Bride walking down the aisle
- Helps with planning the bridal shower(s)
- Usually plans the Bachelorette party and sometimes hosts
- Organizes the rest of the bridesmaids, (insuring times, schedule etc)
- Arranges Brides train and bustles as necessary
- Signs the wedding marriage certificate at the ceremony
- Holds Brides bouquet during parts of the ceremony
- Helps out with planning the wedding and/or reception and its activities
- Hold and Carry the ring for the Groom
- Any other additional duties assigned by the Bride
Roles & Responsibilities of the Best Man
- Stays with Best Man right before the wedding ceremony
- Usually gives the first toast at the reception (order is not as important)
- Plans and hosts the bachelor party
- Helps Groom organize Tuxedo pick up and final fitting
- Returns Tuxedo’s from the Groomsmen following reception
- Signs wedding certificate following ceremony
- Hold and carry the ring for the Bride
- Helps out with other arrangements assigned by the Groom
