HOW TO TREAT CANCER
Cancer is a disease caused by the mutation of normal genes that control the growth and metabolism of cells. This results in an uncontrolled growth of a cell which is seen as a big physical lump.
The substances that cause gene mutations which result in cancerous growth are called carcinogens. Such could be toxins, that is substances that are alien to living cells e.g. poly-cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) found in smokes of cigarettes etc
Other factors that cause cancer could be physical e.g. X-rays and nuclear radiations.
Living organisms can equally cause cancerous growth of cells and such organisms are called oncogenic viruses. Cancerous growths are named after the organ of the body where cancer is found. For instance;
Colon cancer i.e. Cancer of the colon.
Cervical cancer i.e. cancer of the cervix.
Breast cancer i.e. cancer of the breast.
Liver cancer i.e. cancer of the liver etc.
Cancer is a deadly and a very serious disease which takes a great mental, physical and emotional toll on its sufferers. However cancer is no more a death sentence as it used to be perceived as different steps could be taken nowadays to ensure the physical and the emotional wellbeing of a cancer victim.
